For catering needs, there are two basic kitchens equipped with hot water, a portable hob, small oven, water boilers, and a fridge. We also provide essential catering supplies such as crockery, glasses, cups, and cutlery. The pavilion has excellent toilet facilities, including separate men's and women's restrooms, a disabled-access toilet, and baby-changing facilities.
Comfort is key, with effective heating provided by both radiators and instant hot air fans, though these are rarely needed. There's ample parking with space for about 20 cars, including two designated disabled parking spots. For larger events, additional parking is available in the playing field.
The Pavilion is fully insured for public liability for up to 70 people. It serves not only as a village hall but also as a hub for various community activities. It hosts clubs and societies, offering space for social events, indoor sports, and hobbies, including bridge club, indoor bowls, and art classes. It’s also a popular venue for birthday parties, meetings, quiz nights, and book club gatherings.
Located on the south side of the village, the Pavilion offers easy access to Newmarket and surrounding areas. It sits within Ashley Park, which includes a playing field, a children’s playground with great facilities, and plenty of parking.
In addition to its community events, the Pavilion Trust runs a local lottery called the "100 Club," designed to support the pavilion with small prizes and funding. For just £12 a year, participants enter 12 monthly draws, with cash prizes of £30 for first place, £20 for second, and £10 for third. The draw results are announced at random, making it an exciting way to support your local community while having a chance to win!
